Today’s a perfect day to invent something.
A perfect model moment to present something,
Something for posterity that meant something,
Something that went something
like this!

All systems a-go. Add creative juices.
Effort. Inspiration!
Now…pull the lever.
The muses seem operative.
I think we are on the verge of inventing something.

Imagine if you will a machine
That can do your math and keep your bedroom clean,
and cure disease, if given time
or write a novel or a rhyme,
plus save dime or figure how to spend it.
And then invent a thing that’s yet invented.

There’s no such thing.
Oh yes! Let me explain.

It’s called a brain!
You invented a brain?
No, I have a brain.
And I intend to use my brain to create something that
Wasn’t there before.
Will it hurt?

Now don’t be a silly goose,
Simple-minded or obtuse,
I’ll put my mighty brain to use…
Right now.

Today’s a perfect day to invent something.
A perfect model moment to present something,
Something for posterity that meant something,
Something that went something
like this!

Just because you didn’t see anything happen
Doesn’t mean nothing happened.
Now for a moment let’s assume you’re right.
Which in your case the likelihood is slight.

The average brain—a brain like yours—
Is just three pounds, and yet it stores
your thoughts, your dreams, and handles every function.
But watch out if you give your brain the unction
to think of something no one ever thought of,
yet somehow ought’ve.

But I can’t see anything happening.
Are you sure you’re brain is working?

Now once again you’re really wrong,
I’m thinking of a little song
A very simple little song
That goes like this.

Today’s a perfect day to invent something.
A perfect model moment to present something,
Something for posterity that meant something,
Something that went something
Like this something that I’m singing.
And that’s my great invention today.
